This updated Medicare ebook is by far the best on the market in my opinion. The author delivers information on a VERY complicated subject in a way that makes it easy to understand. It becomes quite obvious that he has been around the block a few thousand times as an insurance agent in the Medicare field with customers (readers) like us, who need help but don't even know the basics. You can relax, Mr. Colson's really attuned to helping you. His experience shows up again and again in his explanations, in his examples, in his calm attitude. He goes out of his way to give both advantages and disadvantages of Medicare Supplement Insurance and Medicare Advantage Insurance Plans. He lists the pitfalls that many people fall into for Advantage Plans and Part D Rx Plans. Believe me, after reading this ebook, there are many pitfalls.Mr. Colson helps you think thru complex questions that need answers; things I never would have thought to consider before reading his book.His chapter on Part D Rx Plans is worth 100 times the cost of the book. He goes into great detail on how to get the best Rx plan, based on your particular meds.I have noticed that other Medicare books are written by doctors or financial advisors. OK, that's fine. I suppose they have some valid points to make. However, If you want medical advice, go to a doctor. If you want financial planning, go see a financial advisor. But if you want Medicare insurance information, go to an experienced insurance agent specializing in the field. Go to Mike Colson. The author's 29 years of experience in this field is so evident, and it's what gives this book a crucial advantage over all the other books out there. I highly recommend "Medicare Made Crystal Clear." You won't be sorry.The book includes an email address, so readers can contact him with personal questions or concerns. He helped me, and didn't even charge me, which was a welcome surprise. The book says he also offers one-on-one coaching sessions, or help in shopping for a part D Rx Plan at minimal cost.

I especially appreciated this last because so many books just give you the facts and expect you to sort it all out for yourself. If it's all Greek to you, you might overlook some serious pitfalls and this book is going to prevent that. Eventually, you might end up with different opinions, but this book is going to arm you with what you need to be able to evaluate anything that gets thrown at you as well as what to watch out for. When it comes to insurance, an educated consumer may not be the best customer - so look to your own interests and read this book!What this book is not, is a heavy, detailed slog into the nitty-gritty. This book is chock full of information and written in an easy to understand style. It has helped me to understand my options for medical coverage during my golden years. I have been worried about medical coverage upon retirement because my employer health insurance which will be offered to me is costly and rising each and every year. I'm 67 and still working full time because of the high cost of retiree health insurance -afraid to take the plunge. After reading this book I'm confident that a Medicare supplement and part D RX plan will meet my health needs for much less than my employer's retiree plan. I highly suggest everyone buy this book-money well spent. I'm going to buy some as gifts for friends and relatives.
I really can't believe I'm turning 65 in July...it's just not possible! But Social Security notified me that I'm eligible for Medicare and I panicked that not only am I turning 65, I don't know anything about Medicare, either! I needed to get on board with the what's what with Medicare and supplemental insurance. This book is a miracle! It was a quick read, easy to understand and retain. It wasn't too long that I was able to intelligently talk with our insurance broker about what I needed and didn't need. I highly recommend this book!
Very helpful for understanding Medicare and Medicare options. One of the two most helpful books I have read on the subject. I also had a consultation session with the author, who helped me to understand some of my specific issues and questions. Even though the author lived in Nevada versus where I lived in California, I felt he knew a lot about Medicare and Medigap options, and he gave me good input.
